A new live project from Liverpool-based sound artist JC Leisure, who has made his mark on the catalogs of such cutting-edge labels as Sun Ark and Warm Winters. This new release on Lieven Martens' (Dolphins Into The Future) private label, Edições CN, is an interesting response improvisation that documents encounters and communications between human improvisers and Atlantic gray seals.

Low Tide, Hi Grypus!" is a cross-species collaboration between humans and grey seals. The artist visits a seal colony that appears at low tide and records their calls. The concept was put into practice in a live performance at 1210Berlin. Magnus Bang Olsen and a group of unknown local improvisers participated in the system, which interactively responded to the seal's calls with pedal steel, woodwinds, strings, piano, organ, and electronics. This is a human x ocean ambient session that can follow both a slow exotic mood and experimental stimulation. The slimy interaction with the seals is adorable. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
