About the release
"Who's Next EP is the second EP from Chiba-based DJ/track maker Takesu, who debuted on DTR-003 with the Tales Of King Spider EP. Roughly four years have passed since that record, and in the meantime he reached a major life milestone in becoming a father, all while staying active as a DJ — mainly through Who's Next, the party he throws in his local Uchibo area (which lends this release its title), and Homework, another event he hosts. At the same time, he kept making tracks day after day in the room that has, just barely, escaped being overrun by his son's toys. This also marks the label's tenth release, and the fact that the record-making process — something we were both fumbling through for the first time back then — has already become second nature made us feel the passage of time. It was rather like getting back together in your late twenties with the girlfriend you dated in high school: tossing emptiness and maturity into the solvent of time and cooking up a bouillabaisse. Somehow nostalgic, yet unmistakably a new flavor. There we were, still able to get excited about the same things, and also no longer satisfied by the same things. The Sanyu bird soared high into the Chiba sky, and then vanished back into the clouds. Where does this road lead?"
