While it’s techno, it’s based on the rhythms of spoken language found in traditional Japanese music—such as Kabuki, Noh, and Joruri—and unfolds through jazz improvisation into a breathtaking, mind-blowing experimental progressive trap-style high-speed groove that’s insanely cool. The folk-inspired elements also evoke a sense of nostalgia, and the album features four tracks that convey a sense of “elegy.” Mastering was handled by Miles Whittaker of Demdike Stare.
