We’ve stocked the 2025 release by Polish sound artist Robert Piotrowicz, who visited Japan last year with sound master Rashad Becker and delivered a fantastic live performance at Daphnia. A sound fantasy for a primal, celebratory, fictional traditional music, brought to life solely by synthesizers.
Track List

A unique electronic music work that invents a traditional music genre that does not actually exist. Six dense tracks constructed entirely from synthesized sounds, featuring complex rhythms and repetitions reminiscent of Eastern European folk music, as well as melodies incorporating microtones. Despite being produced entirely with inorganic electronic sounds, the album possesses a mysterious magic that makes it sound like a physical, celebratory ensemble of acoustic instruments. A highly recommended release that brings to life a fictional dance music—which could be described as “pre-techno”—that combines the resonance of ancient rituals with a sense of the future. As expected, the mastering is by Rashad Becker. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
