"Carl the Collector" is an American animated series for preschoolers and children that depicts the daily lives of Carl, a young raccoon with autism spectrum disorder and a passion for collecting, and his friends. I’ve heard it was even nominated for an Emmy Award. As the show’s creators have stated, they aimed from the very beginning to create a soundtrack that would resonate with record enthusiasts. True to their word, the album features a collection of tracks that blend elements of ’70s soul, library music, and rare groove with adorable synth work—all absolutely fantastic. While each track is short, listening to the album from start to finish is a highly satisfying experience. I can already see this becoming a classic sampling source in the future. Highly recommended!
