2LP 6490 JPY

The latest release in the "Culvert Dubs Session" series by Mick Harris, the founding drummer of Napalm Death—the father of grindcore—and a Birmingham techno legend with deep ties to Surgeon and Regis. Following last year’s Volume 4, this is the second release from L.I.E.S. to be issued on vinyl. A powerful 2LP set. Prepare to dive into a forest of slow beats, torrents of noise, psychedelic and heavy textures, and razor-sharp industrial dub techno.

Mick Harris—who has released music under the name Fret via L.I.E.S. and continues to produce under numerous aliases, including the drum-and-bass-oriented Quoit and the electronic project Scorn—presents a new experimental dub session. This release features eight tracks of heavy dub techno, built upon a minimalist Rhythm & Sound-style framework and layered with industrial pressure, swirling delays, and an excessive accumulation of damp noise. The full-pressure sound, where even the rhythm seems to have turned to smoke, is best experienced with a smoke machine obscuring your vision. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
