Downtempo 1
Dune Castle - Cat No: DCAS008

A new sonic world of downtempo electronica created through studio sessions, improvisation, and remixing. As the laid-back groove emerges, fades, and is reconfigured, fragments of melody also appear and disappear—the sustained groove and feeling are exquisite, comforting, and just right. A must-listen!!!
Track List

Daniel Rock (bass), Lucky Pereira (drums), Robert Downie (sampler, drum machine), Winton Findlay (synthesizer)—a Melbourne, Australia-based group exploring new sonic realms under the theme of “LIVE & IMPROVISED DOWNTEMPO ELECTRONICA”—has released their highly anticipated debut album, “Downtempo 1.”
Incorporating compositional techniques based on breakbeats, sampling, and loops, the band recorded a series of extended improvisational performances guided by a general direction and feel. Simultaneously, producer Patrick Ryan mixed, edited, and reconstructed this raw material, blending it into a new re-edit/reconstruction—a cohesive spatial soundscape. As the laid-back groove emerges, fades, and is reconfigured, fragments of melody also appear and disappear. The album features seven tracks that capture a sustained groove and feeling, creating a gem-like, comfortable, and perfectly balanced listening experience. Limited to 300 copies. Heavyweight vinyl LP. It has been meticulously crafted into a superb record. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
