TOMMY VICARI JNR, who has recently been delighting us with his edgy style—including a two-part series on the Dutch underground house label SLAPFUNK RECORDS—returns this time with a warm sound. Set against a backdrop of soft, floating pads, “Rivert People” (sample 1) features a heavy, bouncy bassline and signature synth shots—a true deep tech house masterpiece. “Yak X” (sample 2), remixed by the duo BELEEJEAN—comprising MAIK YELLS and DAVID DELGADO—is also superb, featuring a minimal, tight groove built with plenty of swing.
