*Get Wise*, released in 1975, is a compilation of singles produced by Phil Pratt. The original is extremely rare and commands high prices; ten years after *Pressure Sounds* remastered and reissued it in 2014—the first time in 40 years—it has now been happily reissued once again by *Antarctica Starts Here*, a label under Superior Viaduct.
*Get Wise* features 10 gem-like tracks capturing the peak of legendary reggae singer Horace Andy, known for his one-of-a-kind falsetto voice. Recorded at studios that have left their mark on reggae history—including Black Ark, Dynamic Sounds, and Channel One—with Jamaica’s premier session band, The Soul Syndicate Band, providing backing on every track. This is the Kingston sound of the 1970s, recorded on the eve of his move to New England, where he would go on to collaborate with Bim Sherman and the New York Wackies.
