GINTĖ PREISAITĖ, a musician who graduated from RMC (Rhythm Music Conservatory) in Copenhagen and has composed for large-scale ensembles, is releasing her first solo album under her real name via 〈FELT〉! Using extended playing techniques, sound collages, and experimental microphone recordings, she intentionally blurs the boundaries between genres. The music feels like a blend of electronic and acoustic elements, yet it is also sound art and pop. By seamlessly traversing all eight tracks across genres, the album stands as a cohesive whole.
Track List

From 〈FELT〉—a label known for its edgy releases, such as reissues of unreleased tracks by the Swedish cult ambient artist CIVILISTJÄVEL!—comes this unique work that defies genre classification. This is a solo album by musician GINTĖ PREISAITĖ, known for her cassette releases under the name BARABORO and her collaborations with Toshimaru Nakamura! Created with the intention of blurring genre boundaries, the eight tracks span from concrete music to trip-hop, all crafted from an experimental sound perspective. Tracks include “Day,” a piece of minimalist loop music featuring the piano, and “Nippon Dreams,” a sound art piece collaged from field recordings. Through experimental techniques such as close-mic sound effects and extended playing techniques, each track crosses genre boundaries. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
