You can really feel the influence of his firsthand experiences at Manchester’s legendary club, “THE HAÇIENDA.” A sound that’s like a love letter to the ’80s and early ’90s—garage house that makes full use of samplers, and “house music” that revives the experimental spirit of the era as it transitioned from hip-hop! We’ve secured the second installment of DUSTER VALENTINE’s “DIAL #212” series—the first release flew off the shelves in the blink of an eye.

The second must-hear release from “DIAL #212”—a project launched last year by DUSTER VALENTINE (aka PAUL BENNETT) as part of Manchester’s Leftfield collective 〈YOUTH〉—has arrived! From the sample-heavy “Gettin’ Dub” (sample 2), which captures the very moment of transition from hip-hop and electro to house, to “The KatG Chord” (sample 1), featuring a rugged acid bassline and sweet synthscapes that evoke classic deep house. Based on firsthand experience, this release captures the evolution of house music from the 1980s through the early 1990s—a pivotal era that revolutionized the UK club scene.
