Hello friend, you're receiving this because you’ve supported Psychic Zebra. I want to
sincerely thank you and let you know about our third 12" release, TMRS by Todd Modes
and Ryan Spencer. Todd and Ryan put everything into this one and came out with
something that genuinely moves. I brought back Hugo Capablanca for the artwork,
Dietrich Schoenemann on mastering, and Archer Record Pressing to press it right. ‘Talk
Talk (LA Guitar Mix)’ is the slow burn with guitars from Scott McNamara weaving
through Todd and Ryan's production. Sounds like flying into 1980s LAX at night. Wheels
down. City lights. No luggage. ‘Talk Talk (Frantic Mix)’ flips it on its head. Same bones,
completely unhinged with Sarah O's vocals stacked over a groove that doesn't quit.
‘Risk Of The Road’ sits in heavy space between dance and dub. ‘Weird Wave’ is exactly
does what it says. Trust the description.
TMRS is already receiving early support from Richard Sen, Dave Harvey, Jenö and The
Warehouse Preservation Society.

Making this record changed me. Todd and Ryan put everything into this one. So I gave back more with the help of Hugo Capablanca, Dietrich Schoenemann and Mike Archer. This was never a vanity project. This was made by us coming back to our roots. Enjoy.

A project by Ryan Spencer, who has released music with Blair French as Cosmic Handshakes (via Gooing Good), under the name MODES, as well as under the moniker Symptoms of Love, and has also released solo work via San Francisco’s Bar Part Time. Side A features the dub-house-disco track “Talk Talk (LA Guitar Mix),” described as “evoking the sensation of landing at LAX in the 1980s late at night,” and a guitar-free alternate version, “Talk Talk (Frantic Mix).” The B-side also features the dubby, hallucinatory “Risk Of The Road” and the shuffle-beat, irregular-time-signature downtempo track “Weird Wave.” This release received early support from Richard Sen, Jenö, and The Warehouse Preservation Society, among others.
