Kevin Saunderson is one of the legends who helped shape the Detroit sound alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May. This is a classic track from 1988 by the house project Inner City, featuring Chicago-native singer Paris Grey on vocals. It was their second single, following their debut single “Big Fun.” Released by Virgin/10 Records—which had entered the U.S. market the previous year—this historic track became a global hit, not just in clubs. It remains an iconic presence in house scenes worldwide and in the “Second Summer of Love,” and continues to be loved today, with constant references and sampling. (The sample used in Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter’s latest track, “Bring Your Love,” has also sparked some controversy.) Its appeal never fades.
