A new-era Afro-house edit from Moroccan producer CEE ALASSAD, known for his reworkings of classic songs from his homeland! He’s reworked “Tekere” and “A Demain” by SALIF KEITA, a singer from Mali in West Africa who fuses traditional Mandé music with pop. A killer arrangement featuring a heavy bassline and a low-end groove that fits perfectly on the modern dance floor.

Kicking off the 〈ENSOULED EDITS〉 series is CEE ELASSAAD, the master editor from Casablanca who has released works on labels such as 〈LOCAL TALK〉 and 〈NITE GROOVES〉! He delivers a bold edit of a hit by Malian singer SALIF KEITA, also known as “The Golden Voice of Africa.” The A-side features a modern Afro-house arrangement of “Tekere”—the opening track from his 1995 album *Folon*—which fuses African tradition with contemporary world music and is soulfully sung in the Bambara language, giving the track a deep, grounded groove. Both sides are masterful works that enhance the groove without compromising the original tracks’ festive, dynamic energy! (Original Japanese text by Akie)
