Compiled from newsletters published by the Campaign for Homosexual Equality Hastings Group (CHASTE) and the 1066 Gay Community Organization between 1974 and 1989, this work is presented in the form of cassette tapes—a medium contemporary with those publications. This is an attempt to evoke the history of these newsletters, which once spread from room to room and person to person as they were passed hand to hand. Side A features a collage of readings from the newsletters of that era, testimonies from members of the Hastings Queer History Collective, and fragmented musical pieces. By weaving in announcements, advice columns, and personal anecdotes, it illuminates the journey through which queer people have met, supported one another, and shared their voices. Side B features a track created by Elena Colombi during her residency at the Piedicavallo Festival in Italy. Born during a difficult time, the piece focuses on care, friendship, recovery, and human connection, tying together the overarching themes of the work.
