Christian Schoppik, who plays the accordion as well as the guitar and flute, and Katie Rich, who whispers, recites, and sings. Fragments of ancient Greek rebetiko are processed and looped; as instruments and voices overlap, atonal folk and tape collages emerge with a ritualistic quality, creating a surreal, fairy-tale-like world. Though summer serves as its theme, it is far from dazzling; instead, it is a fantastical soundscape enveloped in dark sunlight that harbors shadows and mystery. The hand-drawn artwork by Gwénola Carrère is also lovely. This is the second edition, limited to 500 copies, released 11 years after their debut album, *Aguirre*. Red vinyl.
