A long-awaited vinyl release from the avant-garde label 5 Gate Temple, run by John T. Gast. Victoria Mingot, who performs as the radical and esoteric hardcore project ST AGNIS, releases her first album under her own name. It’s quiet hardcore driven by acoustic guitar—an otherworldly form of folk music that resonates like an oracle, evoking a faint presence from within imperfection.
Track List

This is the debut release under her own name by Victoria Mingot, who hails from Queens, New York, and is currently based in Europe. Centered around rough recordings of classical guitar improvisations, this ritualistic and hazy soundscape features unhinged and unstable pedal loops, hiss-laden drones, imperfect electronic tones, and blurred vocals circulating throughout. Embracing noise, the quirks of the equipment, and the recording environment as integral parts of the music, this experimental folk sound unearths the rustic beauty inherent in folk music from within its broken-sounding imperfections and fluctuations. A new anomaly added to the 5 Gate Temple catalog. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
