From the sound of oak branches swaying in a storm in Powys, Northeast Wales, to the sound of reeds performing photosynthesis at the bottom of a lake in Rajasthan, India—field recordings collected from around the world are seamlessly collaged into dance music. Tracks include “Romantic Aggregate Pier” (sample1), which features crystal-clear synths and samples designed against a dynamic ambient broken techno canvas, and “Lyonesse” (sample2), which pairs the soft, matte-finished tone of a 4/4 kick drum with a fast BPM.
