Lil' Mark & Dave Gandy
Hit the Spot Project E.P.
Minibar - Cat No: MB058
- updated:2026-07-08
Lil' Mark makes his debut on the label 〈Minibar〉, run by Parisian mavericks Cabanne & Eric Vence (aka neric). A standout track from the *Classic Music Company* scene, blending elements of Chicago house, jack, dub disco, and computerized minimal house. There are situations where this raw groove really hits the spot.
Track List
Somewhere between a rainy UK basement and a late-night Chicago control room, Lil’ Mark and Dave Gandy plugged their machines into the same frequency and things got slightly out of hand. What started as a harmless groove experiment quickly spiraled into a sticky, rolling transmission: warm house pulses, penetrating basslines, and micro-shifted rhythms bouncing like they’ve got somewhere better to be. Lil’ Mark brings his unmistakable off-grid swing and dusty charm, while Gandy injects that raw Chicago circuitry. Together they cook up a deep and powerful record. As the EP unfolds, the remixes take the signal further into orbit, twisting the original code into new shapes, stretching, dubbing, and reprogramming the groove. Best served loud, preferably after 4am, when the minibar is empty and the dancefloor fully locked in.

A collaboration between Lil' Mark—who has released tracks on labels such as 〈CLASSIC MUSIC COMPANY〉 (run by Derick Carter and Luke Solomon), 〈Disco 45〉, and 〈Paranoid Music〉—and David Gandy from Chicago. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
