Experimental “broken body music” built around the raw energy of live performance, featuring tape loops of short, improvised drum machine segments! INWEYS—a new unit formed by CONAL BLAKE (Domestic Exile/Tafi All Stars) and MURRAY COLLIER, the Glasgow maverick known for his work under the names GRIM LUSK and DIP FRISO—has released an incredible debut single.
Recorded in the summer of 2024 at “La Chunky Studio” in Glasgow. This minimalist body music is crafted through a repetitive process that endlessly unearths minute details from short improvisational drum machine loops. Each sound fragment is repeatedly zoomed in on and stretched out, generating abstract beats that feel almost alive. The parts that couldn’t be fully expressed through editing or improvisation are left to the “space” to convey—even the silence is absorbed into the groove.
