The latest release from Barcelona’s EBM collective 〈ASPECTO HUMANO〉 comes from wave-obsessed ABSENT CORPS, who have also released tracks on 〈ORÁCULO〉. The rushing synths, tracing dark chord progressions, create a powerfully hypnotic effect.

From 〈ASPECTO HUMANO〉—the label that’s also bringing us fantastic reissues of tracks by the second-generation Italo-Industrial/EBM cult band “TEMPLEBEAT”! “Jugando con Joshua” (sample 1) is a body music track that employs dark chords, inducing a hypnotic state with finely undulating synthesizers and an intense rush of bass, all sprinkled with mysterious voice samples. Tracks like “Next Beat” (sample 2), where synths echo in a paranoid manner, expertly blend the intensity and decadence of the New Wave lineage with a disco-esque vibe—it’s excellent.
