London-based Brazilian artist Protocol has released his debut EP as the first release on his own label, *InteriØR*. A minimalist and stoic experimental work featuring four raw live jams that fuse influences from early avant-garde, drone, and musique concrète with techno.

Unleashing an ascetic form of techno minimalism that pushes raw drones, deep bass, and reverberating noise to their absolute limits. Sandstorm-like noise, unstable bass, mechanical electronic tones, and polyrhythmic percussion intertwine, constantly shifting form to construct a desolate soundscape that shifts between hard-hitting four-on-the-floor beats, industrial noise, and primal synth sequences. The title is derived from an essay by the CCRU (Cybernetic Culture Research Unit), an experimental cultural research group of which Kode9—founder of Hyperdub—is said to have been a member. This is a cutting-edge experimental work that simultaneously examines techno’s forward-looking nature and its avant-garde roots lying dormant in the underground. 180g vinyl, limited to 150 hand-numbered copies.
