Inspired by the intimate and serene atmosphere of Japan’s “jazz cafes,” the electronic album *Kissa* has arrived as part of Motor City’s techno-focused label *48208 WORLD*’s “curveball” catalog! The Detroit-born synth sounds—which are futuristic yet retain the physicality of funk and soul—synchronize perfectly with the relaxing mood of a jazz café.
Track List

SCOTT AVERY’s Motor City techno label, *48208 WORLD*, has released a conceptual work that takes a step beyond the raw Detroit sound! ANTHONY "MATHIAS" R., who has been exploring beatdown house in the tradition of DETROIT ESCALATOR COMPANY and CARL CRAIG, has produced a listening album inspired by Japanese jazz cafes. Led by the title track “Kissa” (sample 1)—which combines a synth sound that encourages deep immersion and introspection with a rhythm that seems to mark the passage of time—the album masterfully pays homage to the calm yet slightly tense atmosphere of a Japanese jazz café through electronics and intricate beats!
