French disco crew Spaced Out Knew and Orion Westbrook—who released their debut LP under the name CEEOFUNK via PPU—have released a new 6-track EP titled “Friends, Love, Freak”! ! While paying a laid-back homage to ’80s electro-disco, boogie-funk, Italo-cosmic, and synth-pop, this charming and noteworthy release fuses these genres with a fresh and unique DIY spirit all their own.
Track List
Featuring vocals in Italian, French, and English, this track offers an original, unique, and cute groove brimming with a sense of space, blending mid-tempo electro-funk & soul, cosmic Italo, and synth-pop disco. The playful use of sampling gadgets, overflowing with humor, is also heart-melting. The boogie-infused synth and soulful disco groove on the final track, B3 “Kim Jung Boogie” (sample 3), is absolutely irresistible. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
