Established to create a space where sound is not just heard but physically experienced, the third installment of the 〈GABU〉 catalog features BOOD, a Bahraini artist who also organizes the “Soundscapes Zanzi Festival” on the east coast of Zanzibar! From “The Moon Sometimes”—which locks down the dance floor with a tight, polished bottom groove, cut-up samples, and percussion, delivering a punchy yet deep vibe—to the tech house track “Oh Wow” (sample 2), where beepy electronic sounds seamlessly blend with smooth, deep synthscapes, to “Overdream” (sample 1), which layers bewitching vocals and keyboard phrases over a minimal, funky groove—this is a masterpiece that skillfully navigates deep minimal territory while richly manipulating everything from textures to timbres.
