“Yuh Learn! (You learn!)” is one of several rare, limited-edition releases that Dennis Bovell—a key figure in the UK reggae scene—produced under the name The 4th Street Orchestra in the mid-1970s for the sound system scene; it’s a favorite among selectors who appreciate the rich charm of Jamaican roots music. Featuring performances by masters such as Jah Bunny, John Kpiaye, and Eddie “Tan Tan” Thornton, this record distills the architectural beauty of heavyweight roots and dub. Highlights include the instrumental “The Grunwick Affair,” a tribute to the striking workers during the historic labor struggle at the Grunwick Film Lab, and the anthem “Rowing Down The River,” where Bovell’s vocals glide over the rhythm. This is a vinyl-only reissue. (Original Japanese text by Adachi)
