From Argentina, the maestro of South American slow beat—folklore—Barrio Lindo feat. Hou, and Yukino Inamine + AKIO NAGASE, who reinterpret Ryukyu folk songs with a contemporary sensibility. A special 12-inch remix collaboration featuring these two pairs of vocalists and trackmakers has been completed.
Track List

Side A features a remix of “Higashi,” a track from Barrio Lindo’s album *Ecdysis Vol. 1*, released in 2025. This track—a collaboration with guitarist Marron that also features Hou, a singer from Miyazaki known for “Ikinya-bushi”—has been reimagined by AKIO NAGASE and Yamate Meditation Teahouse, each offering their own interpretation.
AKIO NAGASE has transformed the track into a deep, immersive electronic dub sound that evokes the legacy of Basic Channel, a key influence in his own musical roots. Meanwhile, Sancho Meisou Chaya has crafted an organic, ethereal sound by making the most of the soothing resonance of the balafon and Hou’s soaring vocals. Both remixes retain the charm of the original track while showcasing the distinct personalities of each artist.
Side B features Yukino Inamine—a sanshin player and singer who represents the new generation of Ryukyuan culture—and a collaboration from producer and DJ AKIO NAGASE, who continues to broadcast from Kansai to the world by bridging genres ranging from ACID HOUSE to DUB to Techno. This track, a standard of Ryukyuan folk music deeply rooted in Okinawa, has been reconstructed into a warm, slow beat—a true hallmark of AKIO NAGASE’s style—while making full use of Inamine’s sanshin and vocals, as well as the acid-infused phrases he crafts.
Furthermore, the remix features dol-lop—a longtime collaborator of AKIO NAGASE dating back to the Sound-Channel era, when the legendary label led Japan’s club scene with its crossover style—as the manipulator for the party / DJ unit TigerWest (dol-lop & kEN3)—longtime allies of AKIO NAGASE from the days of the legendary Sound-Channel label, which spearheaded Japan’s club scene in the 2000s with its crossover style—have remixed the Yaeyama folk song “Tsuki nu Mishya.” While retaining the original’s nostalgic atmosphere, they’ve crafted a percussive and refreshing track infused with a light Brazilian flavor.
The sun rises in the east and illuminates the mountains. Eventually, the sun sets beyond the horizon and the moon rises.
As moonlight softly bathes the white sands, tonight’s celebration begins.
