Performed by Philophon’s house band, this track features fast-paced hip-hop breakbeats, utterly enchanting and mysterious harmonies, a pulsating bassline, and an overwhelmingly captivating vocal delivery with a one-of-a-kind singing style and soulful expression—funky and soulful. “Alteleyeshegnem” (sample 1) is mysteriously colored by a psychedelic fragrance, and the rare, groovy Side B track “Feqer Feqer Nèw” (sample 2)—with its mesmerizing psychedelic organ solo—is also Ethiopian, funky, soulful, and undeniably cool.
This collaboration between Alèmayèhu Eshèté and Philophon was planned and realized by “Listros e.V.” in Berlin with support from the German Federal Cultural Foundation. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
