It’s backed by top artists across a wide range of genres, from LENA WILLIKENS to ROBERT OWENS—and it’s easy to see why: it features a unique texture where Detroit house and Euro-cosmic styles intersect. From epic ambient dub house tracks lasting nearly 12 minutes to heavy, tribal stepper techno, the album traverses a smoky and mysterious soundscape.

A solo EP by DRUM DANCE, released on the newly established British label 〈INTO THE COSMOS〉. What makes this unique is the wide variety of support it’s receiving from a diverse range of artists—including RON BASEJAM, VINCE WATSON, and HORSE MEAT DISCO, in addition to those mentioned above. The opening title track, “Space Ritual” (sample1), is nearly 12 minutes long—a grand dance trip where synthscapes imbued with the spirituality of the Detroit lineage overlap with dub techno and trance. “Arp Sequence 3 Dub” (sample 2), featured on the B-side, is also highly recommended—a steppers workout that contrasts the organic texture of pitch-shifted calypso percussion with neon-colored synth chains. It evokes a unique fusion of European and American sound essences and genres. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
