MOON B, the charismatic artist familiar from various PPU releases, also contributes a remix! Through this collaboration, London-based producer QUAID (APRON/MERC) and vocalist SHEPHERD deconstruct early ’80s drum machine soul and reimagine it as a contemporary funk sound. A masterpiece of electronic boogie that combines a sweet, hazy vocal delivery with twisted synth leads and crisp drums. MOON B’s remix, which plays with tricky syncopation, is also highly addictive.

QUAID, a master of mellow machine funk whose cassette album from STEVEN JULIEN’s label 〈APRON〉 was so well-received that it was even released on vinyl, teams up with vocalist SHEPHERD MANYIKA to elevate the early ’80s boogie-funk sound into a fresh production tailored to a modern context.
