From EDDIE CHEEBA’s “Lookin’ Good” (1979) to THE B BOYS’ “Rock The House” (1983), this series spotlights the golden classics of old-school hip-hop and disco rap! The third installment of the classic remix series “Back To The Old School,” curated by DAVE LEE, aka JOEY NEGRO, the Master of Disco.
Track List
From “Rock The House” (1983) by THE B BOYS—a track that epitomizes early hip-hop DJ culture—to “Lookin’ Good” by EDDIE CHEEBA, a disco-rap masterpiece released just before hip-hop broke away from the disco sound, , and the party rap “Maximus Party” (1981) by the old-school rap trio MAXIMUS THREE. With bold mixes—such as a mashup of classics like ZHANE’s “Hey Mr. DJ”—this masterful mix brings out the charm of early hip-hop classics, where MC performances ride atop the dance grooves of disco-funk!
