A dreamlike dub techno work created while confronting creativity in a place deep within the lush greenery of the Jutland Peninsula, using a limited selection of analog hardware: Roland’s JUNO, 303, MPC, and SPACE ECHO. ARTO, active in the Copenhagen underground scene, has launched a new label, 〈BAD DEAL〉, and released its first catalog entry! The tracks feature chord progressions imbued with a distinctly Danish emotion, while the low end is both powerful and warm.

An album that embodies a solitary musical quest within a restrained creative environment! “ID” (sample 1) is a dub techno track featuring a low end that’s both high-energy and powerful yet delivers a rounded attack, along with chord progressions steeped in a sentimentality that undeniably evokes Denmark—a track that feels like a slow, deliberate dive into the deep sea. The B-side is even more aggressive: “DI. (DROGAS INTERNATIONAL)” (sample 2) features a robust acid arrangement driven by a 303 with flashy phasing and bolstered by dub stabs.
