The Ravi Shankar Foundation, which has been steadily and carefully unearthing and reissuing precious Master Ravi Shankar recordings little by little, returns with a new release: a newly discovered meditative live recording of sitar and tabla from August 29, 1969, at North Vista in Hollywood, USA. The cosmos, and meditation. A journey through eternity.

A precious document of a performance he gave elsewhere one week before visiting America to appear at Woodstock. As he himself put it, "Compared to the Woodstock performance, this is more relaxed, more experimental, and lets you savor the flavor of my sitar and tabla more deeply" — and indeed, these recordings let you bask, gently and deeply, in the very essence of his sitar. Two sitar universes, at 28:14 and 39:22. Devastating yet again. The price is a little steep, but this is an official release from the Ravi Shankar Foundation (East Meets West).
