The fourth EP release on the label run by Mike Darkfloor, aka DVNT, who also runs the webzine DARKFLOOR and MANTIS RADIO, a show covering provocative underground techno! A1 'Practical Education' (sample_1) rides a supremely cool 6/8 beat with twisted, undulating noise; A2 'Rt2' unfolds from a shuffle into complex rhythms; B1 'Indoor Puncture' (sample_2) has noise coiling around a pulsating 4/4; B2 'Roughten Pounder' moves from spanking rhythms into trancey territory; and B3 'Wound Up Tight' (sample_3), backed by Surgeon himself, is a pounding track that goes from rapid-fire hits to screaming, throwing your fist in the air before you know it! Rock-solid throughout, with EMPTYSET-style beat drops that hit just right \u2014 five tracks worthy of the industrial front line!!
