As a member of the Dream Syndicate, Tony Conrad—who, along with La Monte Young, Marian Zazira, Angus McLeith, and John Cale, was involved with the Perpetual Music Theater from an early stage. In 1972, he recorded *Outside The Dream Syndicate* with FAUST—the only album released prior to the 1990s. (After stepping away from music to work as a filmmaker, he made a comeback in the ’90s with the support of Jim O’Rourke, and recordings from the ’60s and ’70s were subsequently released.)
