Discovered by Gilles Peterson, the young Cuban jazz & soul singing prodigy Dayme Arocena follows up her debut album with an ambitious mini-album that takes deep cuts by Horace Silver, Eddie Gale and others into floor-conscious, Latin jazz crossover, deep house territory in the broadest sense!!! The CD contains 6 tracks in all.

Following Jose James, Gregory Porter, Zara McFarlane and Digs Duke, Gilles Peterson introduced the world to young Cuban singer Dayme Arocena, whose 2015 debut album "Nueva Era" was a quietly stunning masterpiece. Now, a year later, comes this new mini-album — an ambitious work that draws out fresh sides of her artistry, taking on Latin jazz covers (sample1) as well as crossover deep house (sample2), while brimming with the authentic appeal of Latin jazz. Included only on the CD and the download code with the LP, the sixth track "Muy cerquita de ti (Close to You) feat. Jose Pilar Jesus Dedeu, Luis Stock, Ruben Bulnes, Julio Padron" (sample3) runs a full 10 minutes and 33 seconds, featuring a host of Latin jazz masters — the very essence of experimental Latin jazz, and overwhelmingly powerful!!! Utterly captivating!!! Check the tracklist too. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
