It kicks off with the sound of a motorcycle engine, followed by the lo-fi intro to “The Countryside Is Nice,” which transitions from a skip to Young-G’s scratching—and right from the start, you get the Babylon Band’s funky groove combined with the coolness of Ozawa’s vocals. Just like the movie, “Return to the Countryside” is a nonstop trip, and the lyrics—which capture a life lived to the extreme—are absolutely fantastic. You’ve gotta hear it. The B-side’s electro-folk track, featuring versions in the style of Kufuki and Otsu Ri, is also crazy. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
