This marks the third JOHN BENDER reissue from SUPERIOR VIADUCT, and this one is an album originally released in 1983 on the mysterious, cult-shrouded label RECORD SLUTS. He's said to have drawn influence from the VELVET UNDERGROUND, CAN, SOFT MACHINE and even ROBERT ASHLEY, and this album likewise refuses to settle on any one direction — lo-fi throughout, with off-key vocals run through strange harmonic effects, the outsider vibe just never lets up! That's exactly what makes it so fascinating, and as the official info notes, this is an oddball masterpiece that anyone into TG's "20 Jazz Funk Greats" should hear at least once!
