Two pieces are included. Side A, "Becoming Air" (sample 1), from 2018, is a collaboration with trumpeter Nate Wooley that atomizes his trumpet playing through delicate electronics before building toward a climax of roaring distortion. Side B, "Into the Vanishing Point" (sample 2), from 2019, is a collaboration with the New York piano-and-percussion chamber quartet Yarn/Wire, inspired by news of the decline in the world's insect populations; through scraped piano strings, chime tones and a gentle, soft, exquisitely delicate sound world, it conjures images of nature — insects and frogs, wind blowing through trees, the wings of birds taking flight.
