UNDEFINED has finally released their long-awaited debut album via KHALIPHONIC, a subsidiary of the trusted U.S. underground dub label ZAMZAM SOUNDS. We’ve finally managed to get our hands on it. Highly recommended.

Five years have passed since the launch of the independent label NEW DUB HALL in 2017. Highlights include the avant-garde, experimental hardcore dubwise track “After Effect” (sample 3), the band’s shocking debut single A3; “New Culture Days” featuring Kazufumi Kodama (not included on this release), and the exquisite dub track B3 “Three” (sample 2) from ZAM ZAM SOUNDS featuring Rider Shafique—the long-awaited debut album has finally been released. A1 “Victims ft. Paul St. Hilaire” (sample 1) immediately stirs the soul with the voice of the legendary Tikiman (Paul St. Hilaire). The dub-techno-style B2 “Tech in Black” also delivers a pitch-black groove. The essence of hardcore experimental dubwise—with its spaces and pauses, and thrilling vintage reverberations created by electrical collisions. It can also be fully savored as a masterpiece of electronic dub, where an elegant, imaginary soundscape aesthetic explodes. Even the bonus 7-inch is absolutely top-notch. A total of 8 tracks plus 2 bonus tracks. Be sure to check out the tracklist.

*Thanks to the artist’s generosity, this domestic edition includes Japanese liner notes by writer Yusuke Kawamura, as well as a download code for the live recording of “Undefined” from Mad Professor’s Japan tour performance at Liquid Room on October 19, 2019. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
