CUT HANDS — aka William Bennett, the master known for his astonishing festival-like percussion/industrial/tribal style — returns with "Sixteen Ways Out," a soul-poured new album more than ten years in the making, and it's something else. It's the sound of an ultimate hardcore-psychedelic, self-help brain-massage hypnosis music. Seventeen pieces of mystical incantatory music, if you want to call it that.

His first work since the acclaimed 2014 album "FESTIVAL OF THE DEAD" on the Blackest Ever Black label, it fuses the most impenetrable elements of the subliminal, the extralinguistic and the avant-garde in a way all his own, carefully and smoothly applying a mystical musical world of subliminal linguistics, avant-garde hypnotism and dark self-improvement. You'd be hard pressed to hear a sonic world like this anywhere else. There's no hard percussion this time around, but in a sense it unfolds an even more dangerous, utterly serious trip into hardcore, ultimate, deranged silence that only CUT HANDS could deliver.
