The trusted NO WAHALA SOUNDS carefully compiles rare recordings of gem-like 7-inch classics from the twilight of the golden age of benga and rumba in Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the early 1980s, unearthed from "Audio Productions Limited," a music archive in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya in East Africa.

Here you'll find blissful music: benga's irresistible rhythms and beats that only the golden era could produce, rumba's tropical guitars, and gorgeous harmonies. Overseen by producer Bhabhu Shah, this compilation gathers standout performances by bands from Kenya (Kangundo 'D' Boys, Kyanganga Boys Band, The Lulus Band and Gem Lucky Jazz), Tanzania (Founders International Band and Orch. Bima Lee), and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Orch Moja One), originally issued as 7-inch singles on the APL imprints Nyalando, Sound of Music, Boxer, Mlima, and Julus. The early 1980s were the golden age of benga and rumba, and every track here is a rare recording never before released outside of Kenya. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
