Originating from "Sonic Insomniac"—a little-known but highly regarded UK techno project that released music on the UK REGAL sublabel "New Religion" in the 2000s (which also released works by Kirk DiGeorio [As One] and Juan Atkins)—this new release under the name D Ball from 〈Ourtime Music〉—a new release from Manchester’s Dave Ball, whose work remains highly sought-after on the secondhand market. Starting with an abstract intro, the masterpiece “MOMENTS” is a deep, magnificent track that unfolds a steady groove over 9 minutes and 27 seconds. From “FALL,” which evolves from a beatless intro into a breakbeat, to the fuzz-tinged closing track “IAM Pro,” this is a must-have for hardcore techno fans. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
