"The Seven Gold," the offbeat digital dancehall set released in 1987 on Prince Jazzbo's Ujama label by U-ROY — one of the pioneering DEEJAYs who revolutionized Jamaican music and had a huge impact on the development of hip-hop, jungle, grime and bass music — gets a limited vinyl LP reissue on 333, the reggae-dedicated sublabel of Death Is Not The End!!!

Tracks built by Tyrone Downie, a member of Bob Marley & The Wailers from the mid-'70s, and Tony "Asher" Brissett, known for creating the original Sleng Teng riddim for Jammys in 1984; engineered by Paul Davidson and recorded at Creative Sound Studio in Jamaica. Arranged and produced by label boss and maverick Prince Jazzbo, whose signature cheap-machine electro-funk flavor bursts out fresh and unique here, across seven wicked tracks that showcase U-ROY's utterly captivating DEEJAY style. Packed with early dancehall riddims that could only come from the late '80s. (Original Japanese text by COMPUMA)
