Gruppo Sound was formed for the Italian film/TV music and library music label 〈Flipper Music〉. Under this banner, with neither the creators nor the musicians ever fixed in place, they issued a discography of more than 30 titles on an irregular basis across the '80s and '90s. The title reissued here is a collection built on funk, jazz and fusion by multi-instrumentalist Gabriele Ducros, who worked on numerous Italian film scores — music designed to complement the urban imagery of the era. It's great how, out of the flow of breezy, urbane tracks, A5 "Carousel" suddenly leaps out, a cue that surely must have been used for a kids' commercial. Comes with valuable liner notes.
