Car windshield wipers, the sound of a passing train, the chirping of crickets. A sound sketch that embeds a variety of field recordings into synthesizer music that nods to early electronic music. A new album from sound artist NIKA SON, who has also released work on ENTR'ACTE and MMODEMM! Out on Hamburg's electronic music specialist label V I S.
Track List

NIKA SON, the musician behind the superb soundtrack to HELENA WITTMANN's "Drift" (2017), arrives on V I S, home to CHRISTOPH DE BABALON, RVDS, and DITTERICH VON EULER-DONNERSPERG! Sound art that collages a wide array of scene-conjuring field recording samples over music descended from kosmische Musik and early synthesizer works. With its enigmatic conversations and echoing footsteps, this album plays like a drama in which sound overlaps with the listener's own lived experience. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
