The Wailers were formed during the ska era of the '60s as a vocal trio consisting of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer. They released numerous hits on Studio One backed by The Skatalites, earning great popularity as a Jamaican ska group. This is their very first album, recorded when they were still not a band but a vocal group backed by the Beverley's All Stars, during a period when they were searching for a new sound beyond rocksteady — and just before they began working with Lee Perry. An important pre-major-debut work, it includes A2 "Stop The Train" (sample1), a track they would later re-record and release at the time of their major debut. With Motown-style soulful rocksteady like B1 "Can't You See" (sample2) and more, the songs are simple yet powerful, featuring the gorgeous harmonies of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer.
