An alternative dance record fusing seductive Arabic vocals and Algerian music with hard electronics and acid! The long-awaited second 12-inch, compiling four tracks from the cassette of Algerian music edits released two years ago on SERENDIP LAB, the French label and festival focused on DIY art — in stock now!
A new release from leftfield music lab SERENDIP LAB, which has previously put out electro experiments with vintage ROLAND analog gear and French synthwave compilations! Led by "Chaba Amel (Acid Amel Dub)" (sample1), an acidic Arabic leftfield edit that brainwashes with acid chains and percussion loops, this is powerful alternative dance built on RAÏ — born in Oran out of Bedouin song — and CHAOUI, the traditional music of the Berber Shawiya people, blended with acid, bass music and tribalism.
