The ethereal third album from Texas's slowcore first wavers. A lethargic, sparse, and autumnal album, The Golden Band is where The American Analog Set developed the courage to drive 40 KPH on the autobahn. Issued on Emperor Jones in 1999, this 25th anniversary Numero edition has been remastered from the original tapes and flawlessly reproduced in a gorgeous tip on sleeve. When are you quitting the scene?

The American Analog Set emerged from Austin, Texas in the mid-'90s, amid the rise of STEREOLAB, the Chicago post-rock scene, and post-rock in general. Following their first two albums, NUMERO GROUP — a label that has also handled indie rock and slowcore reissues by the likes of Duster and Acetone — now gives this third album a vinyl reissue, timed to the 25th anniversary of its release. Gentle vocals, rhythmic richness, psychedelic harmonies, and ensemble playing. The tones of vintage gear, the acoustics, the layers of sound. A dream pop and post-rock classic that never fades. Remastered from the original master tapes. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
