-info-
This release features audio from Mr. Yonago’s live performance (public recording) presented as Part 3 of “An Allegory of Listening.”
Mr. Yoneko has previously created works focused on sounds produced by non-musical instruments and performed pieces that translate phenomena rarely noticed in everyday spaces into sound.
Although small in scale, the showroom of listude—a company specializing in the manufacture and development of audio equipment—aims to provide a “high-quality acoustic environment.” Through meticulous design—paying close attention to the power supply and the venue’s unique acoustics—and a substantial investment in equipment, they have created an environment that can be considered the best of its kind. It was in this space that Mr. Yoneko performed, making full use of the venue’s acoustics with a combination of non-musical instruments and a trombone.
The recording and mastering of this performance were handled by Eisuke Yanagisawa and Masami Baba.
Although Eisuke Yanagisawa and Masami Baba used different equipment and mastering environments, they recorded the exact same performance.
Tracks 1 through 3 were recorded and mastered by Eisuke Yanagisawa, while tracks 4 through 6 were recorded and mastered by Masami Baba.
We sincerely hope that by comparing and listening to each track, listeners will gain a broader understanding of the relationship between subject and object in the art of recording, the differences in media, the interplay between memory and documentation, and the connections between performance (movement), space, and the audience.
